The $500,000 Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championship Final will be run at Royal Randwick this Saturday, and Newcastle, as always, has a strong hand.
Kris Lees will be represented by five runners as he looks to defend the title won last year by Kinloch. Lees will saddle up the placegetters from the Wild Card run at Newcastle last week – Loch Eagle, Spangler and Willinga Freefall, along with Wyong Qualifier winner Acquitted and Cloudland, the runner-up in the Qualifier run at Kembla Grange.
In addition to Lees’ horses, Newcastle will also be represented by the TAB favourite Kayobi from Sam Kavanagh’s stable. Kayobi, who has won four of his six race starts, including the Gosford Qualifier on March 16, is expected to put up a strong challenge in the race. Paul Perry will also saddle up Cruel Summer who ran fourth in the Wildcard Qualifier in Newcastle Recently.
The Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championship Final promises to be a thrilling event, and Newcastle’s strong presence adds to the excitement. Horse racing fanatics won’t want to miss this exciting race at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
