Newcastle Preview – Tuesday 15 October

RACE 1 – COASTLINE POOLS & SPAS MAIDEN 900M

Shadow Bridge was narrowly beaten in a recent Rosehill trial after racing fiercely and travelling wide. He is a fast three-year-old which has had experience on the Newcastle track. The short course is ideal first up.

Paris Lights missed the start by many lengths then made up good ground in a recent Warwick Farm trial.

Engadine is on debut after a recent Newcastle trial win.

RACE 2 – SUEZ CLASS 1 1300M

Cartel is knocking on the door after three placings this time in. He has been runner up in his past two starts on this track and he should have the run of the race from the barrier.

Nicco Lad is a recent Canterbury winner and he will appreciate a drop in class

Cavellton trialled okay recently.

Race 3 – Advanced Pest Control Class 1 1300m

Classic Princess had no luck when fourth at Gosford last start. She missed the start and she was held up at the top of the straight before running on well.

Cuban Sizzle has had four runs for Kris Lees for three placings and she is an on pacer with a 3 kilogram claim.

Swift Arrival has a place chance.

RACE 4 – EGROUP SECURITY MAIDEN 1600M

Galway Girl has her foot on the till after two career starts. Both runs have been at Newcastle and last start a couple of weeks back was run down and beaten a nose.

Collectively had no luck two starts back when decked in the straight on this track and she made up ground on the Kensington track last start.

Tippler has been placed in both her starts and she has a soft draw.

RACE 5 – SHARP ELECTRICAL GROUP MAIDEN PLATE 1500M

Devils Luck is to ready to win after two placings in both starts this preparation. He came from near last when second on this track a couple of weeks back and he is drawn well, and the in-form Jay Ford has the mount.

California Longbow was a strong finishing second at Kembla second up recently and he has a chance.

Front View resumes after a nice trial.

RACE 6 – RARITY WHOLESALE CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1870 METRES

Ligulate has sound Metropolitan form for this race. He was beaten 4 ½ lengths in the Black Type Dulcify at Randwick two weeks ago. Three starts back he was three lengths from winner Regance at Randwick.

Semper Fidelis has been in good form this preparation and she is well placed.

Kaapfever has been placed in his last two starts.

RACE 7 – NATION WIDE SUPER HANDICAP 900 METRE

Redzel’s stablemate Starry is in good form and has the perfect barrier and Corey Brown will ride her. She was successful first up on this track over this course and she was stiff when caught wide at Kembla last start.

Cyclonite was an easy winner at Hawksbury last start while Scone mare Falerina is quick.
