RACE 1 NEWCASTLE BUILDERS ASSOCIATION MAIDEN HANDICAP 900M

Kanga’s Eye was beaten less than a length in the Gimcrack fourteen months ago when trained by Anthony and Edward Cummings. She hasn’t raced since June and resumes in the stable of Scone trainer John Ramsey who trains the filly for his father. Avdulla rides and she is a class above these.

Zegota is very fast and the ‘900’ is her go.

Hank Scorpio has a place chance.

Selections

1 Kanga’s Eye

7 Zegota

3 Hank Scorpio

RACE 2 PGH BRICKS & PAVERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 2300M

Aurora Rose bolted in over this trip at Goulburn last start. She is a front running stayer and she will be hard to run down in this field. The mare was placed on this track over a shorter trip three starts back.

Mount Bulla dead heated over the 1850 metre trip here last start and he is a promising stayer.

Sportstar Samuel was placed over 2600 at Gosford last start.

Selections

3 Aurora Rose

2 Mount Bulla

4 Sportstar Samuel

RACE 3 ALL STEEL SHEDS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300M

Stone is first up on the back of two barrier trials. He was a close third in a strong Warwick Farm 2 year old in June. The three year old has drawn and he is another good ride for Avdulla.

Thunderbunny was placed on debut at Gosford recently and should be fitter this time.

Expierroment has a place chance

Selections

3 Stone

8 Thunderbunny

4 Expierroment

RACE 4 MBA HUNTER DIVISION CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400M

Loveletter was in need of the run when a close second on this track three weeks back. She had good city form last prep and this is a very winnable race for the mare.

Excelamour turned in an eye catcher two starts back at Gosford then wasn’t comfortable when leading at Hawkesbury.

Ladder raced twice earlier this year for a win and a second.

Selections

1 Loveletter

4 Excelamour

2 Ladder

RACE 5 MAX LEES CLASSIC 900M

There is a huge rap on the back two year old Jonker. The colt won a barrier trial by more than nine lengths on the Beaumont track two weeks back. He sported fast time and he has speed to burn.

The Godolphin filly, Handspun trialled nicely at Warwick farm recently.

Bently Magic was narrowly beaten in a Randwick trial.

Selections

2 Jonker

7 Handspun

1 Bently Magic

RACE 6 HIT 106.9 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400M

Magicalease is chasing a hat trick after two tough wins at Scone and Newcastle. He should have a cosy run from the good draw and he is not easy to get past.

General Harmony will appreciate the 1400 and he will be strong late.

Spring Creek Star was narrowly beaten by Magicalease last start and he must be considered.

Selections

2 Magicalease

8 General Harmony

5 Spring Creek Star

RACE 7 MARK HUGHES FOUNDATION MAIDEN PLATE 1300M

The lightly raced Heat Haze is ready to win. The filly forth behind a subsequent city winner first up then placed behind a smart one last start here.

Stablemate Juventus wasn’t far away when Forth at Canterbury on debut two weeks ago.

Kathaire went okay first up at Hawkesbury

Selections

14 Heat Haze

5 Juventus

10 Kathaire

RACE 8 ROBERT THOMPSON CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M

Intuition was too classy first up at Gosford and he is the one to beat again, he has a soft draw and a top jock and the long straight is ideal as he likes to wind up.

El Venetian had good form last prep and has had two trials.

Your Witness looked good winning first up recently.

Selections

6 Intuition

4 El Venetian

9 Your Witness
