Newcastle Preview – Saturday 27 April

RACE 1- CENTURY 21 AARON WALTER BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1890M

Deladies Boy was narrowly beaten on this track two weeks back and this is a winnable race. He was headed at the 100 but he fought hard. He had a tough run wide, no cover for most of the race.

Angel Of Heaven has had two runs back and is ready to run this trip.

Loveisili is a European stayer which trialled okay.

Selections;

6- ANGEL OF HEAVEN

2- LOVEISILI

RACE 2- RAMS HOME LOANS F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1400M

The Soloist has won three from six and he is well placed in this race. She was placed in a stronger race than this at Hawksbury last start. She is an on pacer and won easily at Goulburn two starts back.

Mill City has had a freshen up and she was placed here in February.

Magic Search has a place chance

Selections:

3- THE SOLOIST

5- MILL CITY

1- MAGIC SEARCH

RACE 3- VARLEY GROUP MAIDEN PLATE 1300M

Gorgons was narrowly beaten after a tough run at Hawksbury two weeks ago. She was outside the leader three wide – no cover and then she laid in under pressure the last 300. The filly pulled up with a minor laceration to the nose.

Stablemate Chanteresse’s only run was on this track two weeks ago when runner-up behind the smart Got Your Six.

Collectively gets back but she can find the line.

Selections;

8- GORGONS

6- CHANTERESSE

7- COLLECTIVELY

RACE 4- SHEDBOSS HUNTER MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M

Oakfield Romance is first up on the back of a nice trial. She races well first up and she has been placed in three of six starts here. The mare was nailed late in a recent trial on the Beaumont track. She has drawn well, and this could be her race.

Isilmo wasn’t far away in his only start here before Christmas and he has trialled recently.

Another Sonette went well here last start.

Selections;

4- OAKFIELD ROMANCE

2- ISILMO

6- ANOTHER SONETTE

RACE 5- RADFORD SHOPFITTERS 2YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 900M

Devachan is a fast filly with a soft draw and she will take some running down over 900. This filly was an odds-on favourite when runner up at Canterbury on debut in December. She was on the speed when beaten five lengths first up on the Kensington track first up three weeks ago.

Vaporizing has been trialling well and Vedic’s trials have been okay

Selections:

8- DEVACHAN

7- VAPORIZING

13- VEDIC

RACE 6- MCKANNA FABRICATIONS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1500M

Recording to Win has her foot on the till after placings in all three starts this prep. She has finished close up in her last two starts and looks like she will run 1500.

Autumn Rain came from well back when a close second on debut at Scone recently. She will be better for that run and will be hard to beat.

The Summit is a Canterbury placegetter with an each-way chance.

Selections:

6- RECORDING TO WIN

5- AUTUMN RAIN

7- THE SUMMIT

RACE 7- NATIONWIDE SUPER CG&E BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1400M

Brix’s first up third on this track two weeks back was an eye catcher. It was a strong race and he came from the second half of the field to go down by a half neck. His racing pattern is to get back, but he is a strong finisher.

Bondi Boy will appreciate the long straight after racing well at Wyong recently.

Total Power has a good record, but he has a big weight and wide barrier.

Selections:

3- BRIX

5- BONDI BOY

1- TOTAL POWER

RACE 8- JOHN WHITMORE MEMORIAL NEWCASTLE NOBBY’S BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP

Airwing is a talented front runner coming off a brilliant all the way win on this track on April 18. He did likewise on this track in February. Sam Clenton rides him for the first time and she is flying in her comeback.

Through the Cracks has won three from four and should be unbeaten.

Attila will be fitter

Selections:

4- AIRWING

6- THOUGHT THE CRACKS

7- ATTILA
