The Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF) invites the community to join in the excitement of the annual Hunter Melanoma Foundation Race Day, set to take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. This event has been running for nearly 30 years promising a thrilling day filled with fashion, fillies, frocks, and most importantly, fundraising activities to support the Foundation’s mission in the fight against melanoma.
Operating for over 35 years HMF had been dedicated to their mission to defeat melanoma in the Hunter. Through membership fees, donations, fundraising activities and the financial support of the local community, the Foundation channels its resources towards supporting the Newcastle Melanoma Unit, Patient Support, Local Research and awareness campaigns, all aimed at prevention and early detection of melanoma. Notably, every contribution made stays within the Hunter region, directly benefiting not only local patients and families affected by melanoma, but the local community as a whole.
“At last year’s event, we were thrilled to raise over $30,000, thanks to the generosity and support of race day patrons,” said Claudia Tolhurst, Executive Officer of HMF. “This year, we aim to surpass that milestone and continue making a tangible difference in the lives of melanoma patients and their families.”
The Race Day promises an array of engaging activities, with festivities spilling over from the Trackside Marquee into various venues. Attendees can expect thrilling horse races, captivating fashion showcases, and an abundance of entertainment for all ages. From live music to delectable food and beverages, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while contributing to a noble cause.
