Gary Harley – Preview – 21.04.22

    Race 1 – Horse Power Maiden Handicap 900m

    Inequality has good form and draws nicely for his first up run over the short course. On debut he was beaten three quarters of length on a heavy track at Newcastle in November. In his only other start, he was beaten three lengths in a Listed race at Eagle Farm.

    Perfect Point resumes and he was narrowly beaten on this track in November.

    Beauty Boom has trialled okay.

    Race 2 – The Prince Of Merewether F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap 1400m

     

    Starboreta has been placed in three of her past five starts. She has been placed twice on this track and was narrowly beaten here on March 4.

    Cross Step has good country form and her last run was good while Visceral had good form last prep.

    Race 3 – OAS Technology Maiden Plate 1300m

    Podium resumes after three placings in all three starts in his first prep. He trialled nicely recently at Rosehill, closing off well at the end of the trial under no pressure. Podium was a dual acceptor but he will run here.

    Baranof has been placed five times and Mojo Classic was narrowly beaten in his only start here.

    Race 4- Kloster Motor Group Prov & Ctry Maiden Handicap 1500m

    Ausbred Bluebird has only had two starts in her career and in her last start on New Year’s Eve she was placed at Gosford. The filly had a nice quiet trial at Warwick Farm recently.

    Fromdustwemust had no luck last start and she was beaten a head at Hawkesbury two starts back.

    Isla was only beaten a length at Hawkesbury on debut.

    Race 5 – Allied Moving Services Maiden Handicap 1200m

    Aircraftman has had three starts this prep for two seconds at Canterbury. In September he was beaten narrowly in a strong Kembla maiden. First up on February 18 he went down by three quarters of a length at Canterbury.

    Newley Wed’s only two starts have been at Sandown before Christmas. She has been beaten less than a length in both.

    Sir Rastus has trialled okay.

    Race 6- Charlestown Square Benchmark 64 Handicap 1850m

    Outburst is lightly raced with a good record and he was a strong winner at Scone last start. He has been placed in a Listed race in June 2020. He looks like the longer trip will suit.

    Theo Legion is a front runner which led all the way last start.

    White Boots can improve if the track is dry.

    Race 7 – Avid PM Conditional benchmark 68 Handicap 1200m

    Optimo is in a new stable and he cruised in an impressive recent trial win. He has been placed at Randwick and on the Kensington track and McEvoy rides.

    Briars Kingdom won well at Goulburn last start and Verbek is in good form.

    Race 8 – Novocastrian Electrical CG&E Benchmark 64 Handicap 1400m

    Harvey’s Way is talented and is ready to fire. He has had two runs back on unsuitable tracks and he is at his best at Newcastle.

    Strombus looked good winning a weaker race here last start and New Republic has a chance.
