Gary Harley – Preview – 07.12.24

Race 1 – Hobson Engineering 2YO Maiden Handicap 900m

The two Godolphin fillies Charka and Parfumier are on debut after impressive trials. Charaka won a recent Randwick trial unextended after racing on the speed, and she had trialled nicely at Hawkesbury two weeks earlier.

Parfumier was hard held when a close second in a recent Randwick trial coming from midfield with no cover.

Wollzeile led all the way to win a recent Wyong trial.

Selections:      3- Charka          5- Parfumier    7- Wollzeile

Race 2 – Kari’s Luck Provincial Maiden Plate 1500m

Monte Braveheart has drawn nicely, and talented apprentice Mollie Fitzgerald has a 3-kilogram allowance. He has ran on strong in his two starts this prep at Kembla and he is crying out for this trip. He wasn’t far away in his only Newcastle start in April.

Think Of One was run down late last start and Road To Paradise is a well bred filly on debut after two trials.

Selections:      2- Monte Braveheart 6- Think Of One             10- Road To Paradise

Race 3 -The Friday Crew Class 1 Handicap 1400m

Rubi’s Serve races well on her home track where she has a win and three placings from four starts. She was very impressive coming from midfield at the top of the straight to run down an odds-on favourite on this track last start and she placed behind the boom 3-year-old Private Harry here on November 2. The mare has the rails barrier.

Good Once was disappointing on this track last start but two starts back he was placed at Wyong.

Churchills Choice won well on debut at Scone.

Selections:      4- Rubi’s Serve              2- Good Once                5- Churchill’s Choice

Race 4 – Commercial Collective Benchmark 68 Handicap 1400m

Cream Rises was very unlucky when a close second at Kembla on November 16 after being held up until the 300-metre mark. Then was on heels in the last 100 metres and went down by a head.

Kings Duty has found form in recent starts with a win and close placing at Scone and Alice Mae has won her past two.

Selections:      1- Cream Rises             5- King’s Duty                 4- Alice May

Race 5- All Metal Roofing Benchmark 64 Handicap 900m

An open race, however, if Split Decision backs up from an unplaced run at Warwick farm on Wednesday she will be hard to beat. The mare was beaten half a length in a 955 metre Benchmark 70 on November 1 and finished three lengths behind Pisanello in a Benchmark 72 at Warwick Farm in October.

Pearl Treasure has been in career best form at Scone in recent start and Russian Assassin is ultra consistent.

Selections:      2- Split Decision          9- Pearls Treasure       6- Russian Assassin

Race 6- Newsure Super Maiden Handicap 1250m

Madam Instrife’s only two starts were during the winter and were eye catchers. She was badly held up and should have beaten the smart Summer Loving at Canterbury in June and two months later stormed home from the tail of the fields when a close second at Newcastle in August. The mare trialled nicely under a hold at Randwick recently.

Prolific placegetter Summer Soiree and Victorian Immediate have place chances.

Selections:      2- Madam Instrife        3- Summer Soiree       8- Immediate

Race 7 – Novatherm Boilers benchmark 64 Handicap 1250

Ciaron Mahers Dumebi can overcome a wide barrier and win second up. First up at Kembla on November 5 he was beaten a length after he laid in and was off heels fifty metres out. He also lost a plate in the running.

True Amor has speed and was an easy winner first up at Kembla and Los Padres has a chance.

Selections:      1- Dumebi        8- True Amor   2- Los Padres
