Race 1- Beresfield Bowling Club Maiden Plate 900m
As expected the race will be a cracker over the short course with all but a couple possessing genuine speed. Xpresso is unbeaten in two trials since joining the Nathan Doyle stable and he is quick. He has a nice barrier and Koby Jennings has the mount.
Turnstar, Polylithic and Bella Palazzo have all won recent trials.

Race 2- The Wests Group 3YO & Up Maiden Handicap 1200m
Haven is in a new stable and she resumes on the back of an impressive Scone trial. The mare was last, four wide and with no cover in the trial before she stormed home down the outside to go down by a neck. When in another stable, Haven raced well at Newcastle and Kembla in the Spring.
Empowerment improved last start and Sarandos could be hard to run down.

Race 3 – East Maitland Bowling Club Class 1 Handicap 1500m
Titled Tycoon beat a subsequent winner first up on this track on June 5. He subsequently failed on a very heavy track at Kembla on June 19. The blinkers go on again and Reece Jones will claim 2 kilograms. This horse likes Newcastle and apart from his recent win he was placed in a good race here in July last year.
Tears Of Effort has trialled well and Higgins was twice placed before his Kembla win last start.

Race 4- Toronto Workers Club Benchmark 64 Handicap 1880m
Ocean Go is knocking on the door after two close placings on this track in recent starts. He came from near last when an eye catching third in a strong race here last Saturday. The longer trip is suitable and he can handle a soft track.
Tangier is a promising stayer and she was strong at the end of the mile when a last start winner at Wyong.
Gunaluva is a tough stayer and races well second up.

Race 5- The Mex Club Maiden Plate 1400m
King Of Hearts turned in an amazing performance to come from 10 lengths off the lead to go down by three quarters of a length at Canterbury last start. He is not that reliable but the long straight is a positive and Bullock rides.
Kennedy Choice has been placed in three of his past four starts and he loves a winter track.
Raccolto is trialling well and was narrowly beaten at Canterbury before a spell.

Race 6- Club Macquarie Benchmark 68 Handicap 1400m
Tim’s Principal is in career best form and he has a penchant for the Newcastle track. He won the Country Cup on Scone Cup Day, and he followed up with a fast finishing win at Wyong last start. Reece Jones has ridden him in both wins and he will claim 2 kilograms.
Capri Lane followed up a last start Hawkesbury win with an easy all the way trial win at Warwick Farm.
General Dubai is a winner here and dead-heated at Wyong last start.

Race 7- Club Charlestown Benchmark 64 Handicap 1200m
Investor is first up after a nice trial. He was a winner and was placed at Canterbury before a spell. He has a nice draw and the in-form Dylan Gibbons claims 3 kilograms.
Windsweep has to overcome a wide draw but her second up win was good enough.
Defeat is ready to win.
