Fundraising Record For Pink Race Day

Pink Race Day, a long-standing tradition held on Saturday 8th July, supported by Clubs in the Community and Newcastle Racecourse, aims to promote breast cancer awareness while fostering community support for those impacted.
Fundraising for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF), a leading non-profit organisation committed to raising much needed funds to provide information and support for local women and men diagnosed with, or being treated for breast cancer in the Hunter, and for their families.

It was a sea of pink celebrations with tremendous fundraising success on this 14th edition of Pink Race Day events. Bringing together 2700+ members of the community, horse racing enthusiasts, and supporters of breast cancer awareness raising just over $100,000 from donations, raffles, auctions, merchandise and ticket sales.

Newcastle Racecourse CEO Duane Dowell was delighted with the support from patrons on the day for such a worthy cause.
“This year’s event was marked by exceptional generosity and a collective commitment to make a meaningful impact on the lives of locals facing breast cancer from diagnosis to recovery and beyond.”
The Pink Ribbon Cup was won by Field Wiri for Trainers Richard and Will Freedman. Presented by HBCF President Cath Adams, Newcastle Racecourse CEO Duane Dowell and Belmont 16s General Manger Scott Williams.

The HBCF President, Cath Adams, notes “These funds will make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer, offering services such as private transport, lawn maintenance, house cleaning through to scholarships and wellness programs designed to help our Hunter residents”.
